Is anyone else here struggling with ARFID?
I've heard that it's common for people with autism or ADHD

I had it as a kid, too, and it used to drive my parents crazy . I didn’t eat a lot of fruits and vegetables because of their acids which left a strange feeling in my mouth. Also I refused to eat anything that had a certain texture or colour. I had times when I only wanted to eat one single thing for weeks and it started when I wasn’t even one year old. Now I eat almost everything, but I still have these phases of eating one thing for weeks until I get over it.
Avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder. It's an eating disorder that is less recognized because people usually confuse it with picky eating but the difference is that picky eaters just dislike foods for taste and people with ARFID dislike texture, smell, have fear of vomiting after eating or food being poisoned etc.
i don't know if i do, i prob don't? but i do have a lot of problems with food even tho i have always loved eating :( if i feel the slightest bit nauseous or anxious i often don't have any appetite and feel worse if i take a bite
I just discovered it last week and it’s the answer to everything that’s been wrong with me. I want to gain weight but I’ll eat something one day that does fine and the next day the same thing will have me vomiting all night. It happens several times a week. What about you?
