Alright, Northern Hemisphere folks, we're heading into the dark time.
Anybody have their Seasonal Affected Disorder plans/tricks/support in place? What does that even look like? Who wants in on making a group for SAD survival?

Can we get this thread going again now that it’s easier to find them? I really loved everyone’s suggestions I never would have thought of. Even just preparing for it so you’re ready! So simple and yet it never would’ve occurred to me. So what’s this self care kit all about?? Also, I feel like my issue is related to mostly how gloomy it is while I’m awake and see the sky, so I’ve always thought a lamp wouldn’t help that. Anyone with a similar experience?
I couldn’t get out of bed without my dawn simulation alarm clock, that’s all year round though, but especially critical during the darker months.
I find the lack of sunshine negatively affects my mood and increases my depressive symptoms. I have a light therapy lamp (they’re pretty affordable) that helps me with the dark mornings and feeling less groggy. I also light a candle when I’m home for coziness and to bring a little light to the early nighttime darkness. I’d love to be part of a SAD survival group!
I definitely would like to! I realized this year how much the weather effects me and I’m nervous for these next 6 months of darkness 😞
I mean... I guess so. But it hits hard anyway. I wish I could go hibernate like a bear, and come out of the house once spring arrives... I like Christmas though.
I obliterate the sauna and the gym during the winter, got a new lions mane hot Cacau drink, lights that auto turn on as an alarm and Lo fi beats in the morning / always looking for more ideas though
I got my vitamin D magnesium, sad lamp, emdr treatment, and self-care kit!! I’m not playing around this year 😆
A friend is makes this incredible magnesium balm. I put it on my feet in the evening to help me sleep. She has a body spray, as well. Good reminder about the lamp. I've moved in the last few months and gotta dig that sucker out of wherever it's packed. I, too, am curious about the self care kit.
