Sorry you get no support from your family. Often this is a response from not knowing how to handle it (which is no excuse, just an explanation) so it might help if you show them information about what ADHD is (because most people have a completely wrong concept about it). Maybe you have already tried that, but if not, maybe it helps. Either way, there are countless people here, that understand you and your situation, so this is definitely a good place to talk about it with like-minded (literally 😅) people 🍀
It’s hard when you’re living with parents that just won’t acknowledge it. I knew I had it during highschool & tried to explain to my mum that I want to get tested but never did & my actions would be counted as laziness. Family can be stubborn with it but if you have friends that can sympathise with you, that’s all you need. + you have all these amazing people in this app that can appreciate you! I eventually got diagnosed once I moved out & paid for it myself.
Hi there! I'm 47 and my parents still treat me like I'm 12. They have no compassion. They won't even bother reading up on ADHD AND THEY WERE BOTH TEACHERS!!! I think it's a choice of how much you want to put up with.
I know the feeling. I am in health queue and doctor told me not to give up if I get rejected the first time.
