I started a new thing with visualization. I like to take a photo of a declutter project before and after. This keeps me motivated for the next project.
I like to have a game plan and then break it into small 1/2-1 hour sessions. I do this daily until the task is completed. For visualization on decluttering I take a before and after picture. That is my reward for completing the task.
What keeps me motivated is to see small results into my routine and the waiting time about it. If It feels too much I feel freeze and I need to move my body. In this moment I feel use disassociation within body and mind. I want to avoid disassociation..
I feel terrible because I’m totally unable to motivate myself for one type of tasks have to do over and over again for work : marking papers (I’m a teacher). For the short papers it’s ok but as soon as it takes more than 3 mn/paper (it’s often the case…) I’m absolutely unable to start. I tell myself « 3 papers every day, it’s not that much » but even then I can’t. It is the equivalent of physical pain to put myself at work for this… So I feel ashamed when my students ask if I finished, and I spend an allnighter trying to finish, falling asleep on the papers and then forcing myself to wake up (I slap myself in such cases) and it’s complete torture… I don’t know what to do… 😢
