Thinking faster than typing

I often have the problem that when I’m typing, my brain is obviously way faster and then I type half the word and finish it with the first half of the next word already. Don’t know if this is understandable 😅🙈 Does anyone else experience this? Do you have a trick that helps you?

Whenever I can I use voice recognition to “type” for me so I can just talk it out. If that isn’t an option, I keep predictive text on and I also have set up a ton of custom autocorrects for phrases I use a lot - like SFTeam autocorrects to my three team members names. It’s kind of like creating a custom short hand and it helps me to be able to type at my brain speed when I don’t have to type full words for everything.

That’s a great system - I will try that 🍀 thanks 😊

I don’t type it I do crazy writing to clear my head noise sometimes and it’s so fast and I just spill onto the page. But what I do isn’t work and it’s just to unclog my brain of chatter. So this is of no use to you except to say I kind of understand what you’re going through with absolutely no solution to offer.

Knowing I’m not alone with this already helps 😊🍀

Yes! I skip whole words sometimes without even realising🫣

I actually sometimes just let myself go with unfinished words and whatever comes out easiest onto paper. Then I go back and edit. ✍️

Did it today when I was taking notes on a manuscript I am studying at the Vatican Library in Rome. Good thing is they were just for me so I don’t even need to edit them 😆
