Those special alarm clock/lights that gradually brighten to mimic the rising sun in your room! I bought a cheap one and it helped when I had an early morning job. Otherwise the insane stress/panic of being late to anything (definitely the ASD) helped lol šŸ’€

Yes I used a sound as well. I was able to wake up with it playing bird sounds and a gentle harp kind of song, but Iā€™m a light sleeper and will wake up to anything really. But that gradual transition to being awake is what helped me the most I think

idk why the sunlight alarm clock isnā€™t working for me so you use the alarm sound as well or simply the light ??

Also having some things on your bedside table like face wipes, water, moisturiser, a snack (a bar maybe) to make ur morning a bit easier.

I have most things connected on my WiFi so Iā€™ll set sound alarms that match my lamps coming on. That light annoyance will get me up. If this doesnā€™t wake me the my dogs will start walking on my pillow and my head.

ah thatā€™s amazing you have everything linked. my dog used to come lick me and wake me up but i think my sleep schedule is so inconsistent atm she gave up

I've tried setting multiple alarms for an hour or 30 minutes before I have to wake up

I take my adhd meds before I go to bed or Iā€™ll set an alarm an hour before I have to get up and have my med right next to my bed to take it then hopefully itā€™ll be working when the alarm goes off again!

Vibrating alarms work well for me - if you have a smart watch, wear it to bed and set a tactile alarm

Get into a routine of going to bed and waking up at the same time daily

I didnā€™t always have a routine. It took me awhile to build it. At first I just stuck to week days and felt I needed to sleep in on weekends. It didnā€™t really start to work until I went 100% in. Doing it every day works. I still mess it up, no oneā€™s perfect.

Have you always had a routine or did you build your own? Iā€™ll have a good streak but when I night serve sometimes Iā€™m too wired after, stay up too late, wake up too late and struggle getting back into a routine

I find that opening my curtain before I get in bed (while itā€™s dark outside) helps as itā€™s brighter in the morning and the natural light helps me wake up naturally a lot earlier than when the room is dark. And also try to avoid caffeine in the afternoon and evenings :) Hope this helps x

If youā€™re asking for tips on how to feel more energetic when you do, if you like coffee or soda, anything that has caffeine in it, I recommend that. If youā€™re asking how to get up earlier, I recommend setting an alarm and ban all apps except for messages and your alarm, then put on some music if that helps you sleep and relax for a while, do some breathing exercises, meditate, whatever floats your boat. Then youā€™ll wake up earlier because your mind is at ease and itā€™s easier for your body to get the rest it needs while waking you up earlier!

I let my phone in the bathroom at night with an alarm for the morning and I program my heater to warm up the room to a very high temperature so it's a real pleasure to use my phone there

I can get up at 6am with the help of a cheap sunrise alarm from Amazon. It lights up the room and most times my eyes open before the alarm sound starts.

I completely agree. (Artificial) Sunlight helps me a lot. And I need a lot of time to wake up, so I stay in bed 30 or 45 mins after waking up. You just need to set the alarm early enough. That's the best way for me to be able to get up.

If itā€™s warm enough outside I am sleeping with open windows so I can hear the birds sing in the morning šŸ¦ā€ā¬› You can put your alarm far away from the bed so you have to get out to stop it. Donā€™t get back to bed! Make the first thing you do in the morning something you really love. So that you are looking forward to doing it. For me itā€™s the first coffee with reading a chapter of my currently book.

Drink some glasses of water before sleep so you will have to go to the bathroom. Works for me ;) Also try to get direct sunlight in your eyes as soon as you are up. This stimulus your cortisol and makes it harder to go back to sleep.

Well, I have an alarm application that forces you some tasks, such as scanning a barcode, solving some math problemsz shaking the phone wildly for an amount of time or playing a card matching game... (you choose the task while you're setting the alarm) to shut the alarm up šŸ˜… I put the barcode in my bathroom. So I have to run to the bathroom to shut the alarm. When I go to bathroom, I wash my face too, so my day begins... šŸ˜…
