Those special alarm clock/lights that gradually brighten to mimic the rising sun in your room! I bought a cheap one and it helped when I had an early morning job. Otherwise the insane stress/panic of being late to anything (definitely the ASD) helped lol š
I have most things connected on my WiFi so Iāll set sound alarms that match my lamps coming on. That light annoyance will get me up. If this doesnāt wake me the my dogs will start walking on my pillow and my head.
I take my adhd meds before I go to bed or Iāll set an alarm an hour before I have to get up and have my med right next to my bed to take it then hopefully itāll be working when the alarm goes off again!
Vibrating alarms work well for me - if you have a smart watch, wear it to bed and set a tactile alarm
I find that opening my curtain before I get in bed (while itās dark outside) helps as itās brighter in the morning and the natural light helps me wake up naturally a lot earlier than when the room is dark. And also try to avoid caffeine in the afternoon and evenings :) Hope this helps x
If youāre asking for tips on how to feel more energetic when you do, if you like coffee or soda, anything that has caffeine in it, I recommend that. If youāre asking how to get up earlier, I recommend setting an alarm and ban all apps except for messages and your alarm, then put on some music if that helps you sleep and relax for a while, do some breathing exercises, meditate, whatever floats your boat. Then youāll wake up earlier because your mind is at ease and itās easier for your body to get the rest it needs while waking you up earlier!
I let my phone in the bathroom at night with an alarm for the morning and I program my heater to warm up the room to a very high temperature so it's a real pleasure to use my phone there
I can get up at 6am with the help of a cheap sunrise alarm from Amazon. It lights up the room and most times my eyes open before the alarm sound starts.
If itās warm enough outside I am sleeping with open windows so I can hear the birds sing in the morning š¦āā¬ You can put your alarm far away from the bed so you have to get out to stop it. Donāt get back to bed! Make the first thing you do in the morning something you really love. So that you are looking forward to doing it. For me itās the first coffee with reading a chapter of my currently book.
Drink some glasses of water before sleep so you will have to go to the bathroom. Works for me ;) Also try to get direct sunlight in your eyes as soon as you are up. This stimulus your cortisol and makes it harder to go back to sleep.
Well, I have an alarm application that forces you some tasks, such as scanning a barcode, solving some math problemsz shaking the phone wildly for an amount of time or playing a card matching game... (you choose the task while you're setting the alarm) to shut the alarm up š I put the barcode in my bathroom. So I have to run to the bathroom to shut the alarm. When I go to bathroom, I wash my face too, so my day begins... š
