You are not alone in your struggle. If what I've learned in my successful journey can help you, share with me what you're going through. While I can't discuss the specifics of my work, I can try to help you with strategies and perspectives on your unique situation based on what I've learned. Hi Adam, the picture is spot on 😂😂😂. That is exactly my brain. Thank you for taking time to share your tips & tricks. I used to be very effective despite (and because of) my adhd. ( management in large construction firms/ real estate) but my adhd has worsened a lot since covid. So your website is very helpful now for me to find a new framework to work on. My basic problem right now is that my job drains me from dopamine. Since i had a lot of concentration issues I switched to a more easy job. However it is better for me not to get stressed, technical complexity hugely interested me. How were you able to stay functioning high level, while nog get drained from your energy?

To anyone who has commented, but doesn't see a reply from me. I keep seeing the comment number increase, but the app is not showing me anything since two days ago. :(

Hi. The app tells me there are 20 comments on this post. That number keeps going up whenever I check but I keep seeing the same 5 comments. I'm concerned there are folks commenting here but I can't see them.

I find it’s common for me to encounter situations (usually with those who are very organized, aka not ADHD), to give directions/feedback that are “clear.” I can be a perfectionist sometimes to cope with adhd, but I genuinely try my best to complete the task or apply the feedback. And then it turns into a “if we have to discuss this again,” moment, when I really thought I was doing the right thing. I do ask questions if I’m unsure. I hope that makes sense.

That makes sense! I had a supervisor who assumed we were often on the same page, and I thought we were, too. She is overwhelmed often with tasks and would often reschedule, forget to schedule, or postpone the time for our meetings because she’d be in the middle of something. I kindly brought this to HR, saying I feel like she has too many things going on and my department (I’m a manager) wasn’t getting support due to it. She defended that with “you’re supposed to be at my office, on time.” In the beginning, I was, but I didn’t know what to say to it; I asked why she hadn’t corrected me, and she said she was waiting for it to be more than a 3x error sort of thing. I had just opted for waiting for her to come find me when available, as I didn’t want her to feel more stressed.

That's such a sting when you're putting in effort into something others can do effortlessly only to hear that you still didn't do it right. It's also important to remember you may be prone to RSD with ADHD so depending on the situation, it may not be as bad as you perceive it, but that also depends on the details. Do any examples come to mind of when you've experienced this?
