Diagnosis

When you were diagnosed, was it a relief or something difficult to deal with? For me, it was a huge relief, because I realized that many of the things I blamed myself for doing, in reality, weren't even my fault but the way my brain works.

I read an article about Inattentive ADHD and diagnosed myself, before I got an official diagnosis. It was a relief because all the things people use to say to me, and things I started telling myself, were because of some reason and not because I was stupid, forgetful, lazy, etc.

For me it was a relief. I was 32 in college working 4 jobs and raising 2 kids alone. I was first diagnosed during my 7year Olds assessment.

For me it has been llike for my whole life as i remember cuz i think i got it then i was like 7 or something. But then i was younger i was always angry about adhd. I just wanted to be like a normal person and didn’t want dad to tell other people that i was different. Its not only adhd thue cuz im different in more ways and probably the thing i hate most now is that im late developed or what it is called on English. I mean im really small for my age and most people think I’m much younger then i m and cuz of that people also talk to me and think of me like a younger child and that makes me sad sometimes.

I feel that...People sometimes think that I am a high school student when I'm already an adult. I feel frustrated. It's not because of my appearance but my way of talking or something? The best part is maybe when I get old, they will still think I'm younger than my age 😂 It would finally be a benefit someday

@mia233 my dad use to say to me then im sad about being the smallest boy that he was also small like me then kid and he hated it also but then he was adult he was still young looking for his age and he say then i get old i will probably look younger and then its a good thing. And it’s like true cuz my dad is 49 but he look much younger and often people say to me that i have a very Young dad cuz they think he is like 35 or something. His boyfriebd is like 30 and he don’t look muck younger then dad 🤩

I understand you, I was diagnosed only when I was 17, nobody believed me, I was also afraid of people finding out about it. It was always the opposite with me, I was always much taller than other women and I suffered bullying at school for being taller (1.80 cm tall) and because my mother had cancer
