I’ve bitten the bullet and decided to hire a VA

General vent - It got to the point again a few weeks ago where I lost a client through lack of executive function and it started me in to a wee bit of a downwards spiral. I ended up emailing a woman on ADHD uk’s website not expecting anything. More like a wail in to the void. We had a meeting today which I had completely forgotten about and she wasn’t as expensive as I thought. We got on really well and decided to do 1 hour a day for her to respond to emails, chase clients and invoice people etc and I’m feeling good about it! It’s quite a lot of dough but I feel like it’s going to pay off in less stress and actually being able to focus on the things I’m good at rather than constantly struggle with the things I’m not. It feels like a weight has been lifted so far. Not sure how it will go. Does anyone else use a virtual assistant, did it help?

Reading this really makes me wanna look into hiring a VA, if only for light admin tasks a couple hours a week so that some things actually get done when they should..!

Gee…I have 45,000 unread emails. That’s a great idea. Thx

I haven't but you sharing your experience definitely inspires me to get a VA because sometimes things just fester and don't get done for weeks or months or I lose out altogether because of executive dis function or rejections sensitivity dysphoria

Same here. I’ve been thinking about it for quite some time, but haven’t actually taken the step. It sounds so relieving though!

I am in the same boat. Executive dysfunction is eating away at my bottom line. I finally decided to hire someone to respond to emails/phone messages and tell clients she'll get the answers and get back to them. I honestly don't know how I've made it 20 years being a lawyer, when executive dysfunction completely screws me up with project timing, saying no, and completing things after I get bored with them.
