How to routine

I came to the conclusion that I don't really know how to make and follow a routine...how do people routine? πŸ₯² I realized that I tend to overachedule everything to the minutes or just give up on planning anything...it's frustrating...

What is a game changer for me is having a real reason, why doing the thing is important for me. If I know doing something needs to happen to reach a certain goal that I really want to achieve, then it is a lot easier to stick to the routine. I, for example, started running three times a week in June 2023. This is very important to me, because I finally wanted to have and keep the body of my dreams. I know running is one of the things that help me reach this goal. That makes it easy to follow the routine. Do I want to get up at 4:30 and run? Hell no!!! Do I do it anyway? You bet I do - without missing a single time πŸ€ Hope this helps you too πŸ€

Have you tried body doubling? It sometimes makes routines more enjoyable. Then you might start to crave them…

Body Doubling is a practice of working with someone else at the same time, but not on the same thing. The fact that someone else is there also working keeps you from procrastinating or doing something else. It’s an accountability thing. You can do this in person (like a study session in school or college) or also online, with a zoom or FaceTime call.
