College without Meds

So I am going back to college, (this is legitimately my 3rd try), and I'm really worried about getting what I need to done. I am already a good bit behind, and completely over whelmed, even with just 2 classes. I probably won't get medication for a good but either. I refuse to let this time fail. Any help with that? I already am doing a lot of stuff, but the main issues I am having are executive dysfunction and motivation.

I went from grade school all the way to junior college with out being diagnosed and knowing that there was something different about me. Got my degree and all but when I went for my bachelors, that’s when problem got worst. I ran out of ram, no matter what I tried I would not retain. Do yourself a favor and take the meds there’s no need to take adderall, there’s other options you can go through with your doctor. Pay a visit to the accessibility department in your school, they can provide accommodations as needed like extra time for exams, semi private space, extensions as needed for assignments. Look for help, and don’t drop or withdraw your classes. Trust me, you can do… I believe in you. This is my third time too and I’m graduating in two days, so is plausible.

I’m going thru the same thing, currently trying to get my AA, I can’t be medicated for my adhd since it’ll make my mania real bad… I’m honestly not doing too well either at the moment, but some things that have helped me is making sure I’m “in the moment” before I start a task, either by meditating or by slowly building up the mindset that I’m about to do the task by doing small little preparation things (like if I’m having trouble trying to do an assignment, I’ll make getting my computer/supplies out in general my main priority, and even though it may seem like a small step, it really makes things seem less intimidating). Set small goals for yourself and slowly make those goals bigger as you get comfortable with the smaller ones. But we all have times where we feel like nothing is working (how I feel lately, honestly) and I think a key thing is to be patient and forgiving with yourself as you try to find something that works. Remember what you have accomplished already and tell yourself even though you’ve hit a bump in the road, you’re trying your best, you’ve come so far already.

Can you ask your doc if Wellbutrin could be an option since I’ve read it works for bipolar disorder as well.
