Have you ever cut yourself hair?

I'm broke af, so I've decided to invest in decent hair scissors instead of purchasing a haircut every month or wandering around like I've never seen human civilization. Anyone has experience with cutting their own hair?🤔

I cut and color my own hair always. However, I did go to cosmetology school 30 years ago, and while I dropped out, I learned enough to cut my own long, very curly hair. It definitely saves money!! It usually costs at least $50-$60 just for a cut, not to mention the expense for coloring, etc.

Last thing I did for myself was giving my bangs a fresh cut- because we’d be invited to a wedding the next day- I got the idea in the middle of the night- standing in front of the mirror and being about to prepare putting the foam curlers in, I wanted a special look and thought grown out bangs weren’t really manageable to look good Before youtube was big I tried cutting my bangs once before (2007 or so) , was happy with it but didn’t really like it retrospectively when looking on photos- but I liked it at the time I wore it! That’s what counts I do give the advice to watch several YouTube videos on a certain look you wish to achieve I for my part wanted to know how to cut an A-line Bob after having a layers cut for years- that was 2015- since then I go to the salon maybe once pr twice a year and do the rest by myself, content enough with the result to say- that’ll do until this gets out of shape and I feel wealthy enough to spend 30€ for cutting job I am also glad that my thoughts about hair most of the time only involves the cutting, neither structure alternation (perm or chemical treatments) nor color (highlights, rainbow ombre, dyeing and so on) TLDR; buying a pair of hair cutting scissors isn’t costing a fortune and starting small will always leave room for correcting..

I think I'll also give it a try. With longer hair a FU will be easy to correct anyway😅 Well, my last DIY haircut didn't end well, but I war 4 yo, hope I got steadier hands since then haha
