Medications?!

Please forgive me for this ridiculously long entry my goal was to make it short and sweet since I don’t have the attention span to read something like this but I also always have the need to explain things entirely. Also please appreciate this perfect meme for my essay LOL Hello all!!!! I was diagnosed in the summer and put on something not directly for adhd I forget the name rn but I had also expressed when asked the depression portion of the initial intake that I’m certain I suffered from post partum depression for the first 2 years. I mean in the morning I was good I was able to get tasks I was putting off for days/weeks/months done but would crash by 4pm so I stopped taking them … looking to find a new doctor 1 (because he’s always booked 3 months out…and why wouldn’t you recommend another medication to try at the time since I expressed I’ve literally became a troll- no sunlight I can stay in my house days weeks in and id send family to get me things from the store and taking care of my 3 year old was pretty much the only thing I was doing… I hid from all other things felt too overwhelmed even thinking of having to get ready, travel time, what not to forget when leaving the house etc etc) rather than wait … I almost cancelled the intake appt because I was triple subcategorizing every task. Ive been waiting for 4 months to see him again so he “can prescribe something else” ) and 2 just wanted to see what everyone else is taking because to my knowledge there’s an adderall shortage? Don’t know if that’s still going on or if I’d even get that prescribed but just want to have my notes and list ready for my long awaited appointment &&&& find a new doctor at the same time cause ADHD is now or never and when I wanna see the doctor I wanna see the doctor not wait cause by then I’ll probably reschedule 5x. Don’t know if prescriptions are prescribed by adhd type but from all my hyper fixation reading I self diagnosed with the combination. The first medication wasnt a stimulant and through personal experiences of self medication (didn’t know at the time I was also self medicating while partying at the club LOL I respond better to a stimulant. Want to atleast give it a shot since the last 2 years I’ve been just burn out. I get my dopamine fixes and just fizzle out and become a couch potato or just stare at the task I have to do and it’s really affecting day to day life and honestly the self medicating is becoming too expensive when I have my days where I really need that extra boost. Thanks in advance!

Your post is so relatable.. I swear 😂 I take sertraline(Zoloft), bupropion(Wellbutrin), buspirone(Buspar), and hydroxyzine(Vistaril), and methylphenidate (Concerta)… all for anxiety, adhd, and depression(started out as postpartum depression) Adderall worked well for a while but I maxed out on the dosage so the doc decided it was time to switch. It has taken a good while to see what meds would work at what dosages, but I feel a lot more normal… whatever normal is lol and I feel more regulated. We are supposed to be bumping the dosage of the concerta after a month of taking the lower dose.,, I still get overwhelmed easily so I’m hoping this increased dose will help a little more. I used to self medicate with loads of caffeine and/or alcohol. I don’t feel the need for the alcohol like I did before… whereas I used to drink a glass(es) of wine before doing anything that required socializing with more than a couple people or if I know there’s a lot of commotion. I feel so much better in that area. I have alcoholics on both sides of my family and I thought I was going down the wrong path. What was the question again? 👀😂🤷🏻‍♀️

Wellbutrin has been amazing for my ADHD and depression. I'm still myself, but I can focus my energy. I also don't dopamine seek because Wellbutrin is an NDRI, so it boosts your dopamine. Which is why it's good for addictions as well
