Sat down… and now I’m stuck.

Any tips on how to get out of paralysis, after sitting down with phone in hand? 😑

I try to keep my shoes (tennis shoes, work shoes) on. Like taking off your makeup/ bra at the end of the day. Shoes are the same... once they're off, it's over. If a have a task that I know has to get done, and I can't seem to tear myself away from my phone/laptop, I will put on my shoes. Tells my body that it's time to do thing things...

I literally have to leave the room or leave the house. Just do something else. It usually helps kick start your system. The absolute hardest part about doing anything with ADHD is starting. Give yourself intervals of time to do a task instead of leaving it so open-ended because then it seems like it could go on FOREVER 💀

I usually hide my charging cables from myself for this exact reason haha

I definitely try to schedule my phone time like reward time. Attempting to do time limits. I'm not great at it yet. But this app is helpful me alot in general and I'm enjoying feeling more productive without as much overwhelm or guilt produced motivation! Makes me less likely to want to escape so long

And when u have an iphone use the work filters. Really helps for me. And I use this app open with a task. So i use my phone after the task is completed 👍🏽

I just deleted all my social media, can’t remember when I did it. I think almost a month ago!!!! Wuhuuu (only have WhatsApp still) And for reals: the paralysis is less :))

Can you turn off the phone? In my experience, it's easier to put it aside that way. And then focus on one thing you want to do, something that feels doable. I'm with you... Sitting on the couch, not being able to stop scrolling.

Life is short. See the picture where it shows how many weeks there is in a human life and you'll probably be terrified. There's so little time!

Sometimes it helps me to go inside my body and start by wriggling my toes, then rolling my ankles then tensing my legs until I feel like standing up for a full stretch and big deep breaths really focusing on feeling my insides

Good one! Since paralysis is often a disconnect
