Does anyone here feel like …

when you go into hyper mode and talk a lot people get annoyed. Like my husband tells me to shut up. I’m so sad and depressed. Nobody gets me. I struggle so much. I truly feel like I’m a nuisance and just unlovable.

I’m genuinely sorry to hear that 😪. Doesn’t sound very nice that your husband is telling you to shut up either… I live in a sharehouse with three other girls, and we are a VERY neurodivergent house. To me, their hyper modes are some of the things I love most about each of them 🤍 But also as you may know or have experienced, we can get social burn out quite easily! My house can be a LOT sometimes haha. However, we really care about each other so when someone else is on hyper mode and I’m not, I make sure I acknowledge and celebrate them while communicating to them that I might not be feeling like engaging at that time. Perhaps chatting with people about it and trying to see if setting similar boundaries might help? Sadly, the more comfortable people feel around others (and particularly with our loved/closest ones), the more we seem to be ok with being dismissive or even rude to them. I am not excusing the behaviour, but I obviously don’t have the whole picture and don’t intend to think I do. But I’m thinking that maybe letting those around you know that telling you to shut up is hurtful and that you would prefer if they could instead just let you know when they’re not in the right mindset to engage? Adhd talk mode is actually amazing haha I love it! My advice is to embrace it, and in my opinion, anyone that makes you feel like you are a nuisance is: 1. Absolutely missing out on top-notch conversations 2. And quite frankly, in need of your own personal review on whether they deserve to have your amazing self and your awesome super powers 💕☺️
