Has anyone stopped medication of ADHD once diagnosed?

I had a consultation with dr. But only one and he ask me to start medication and the contact he gave for the medication is asking me everyday when I am starting. But I am concern what if once I am starting it then it becomes habit or brings side effects. I don’t want to keep taking medication for my whole life. Has anyone stopped medication after diagnosed? Can you please confirm it’s possible.

I take medication but it has a few side effects like loss of appetite and becoming moody. I don’t take it on the weekends because i don’t have school and the meds kinda take away my personality and I don’t take it if I don’t have to. But have u looked into caffeine? Caffeine is a great alternative to meds. It has a similar effect and heightens dopamine levels, all without the side effects. Some times when I don’t want to take my meds, I drink a big cup of coffee in the morning.

I don't take medication but it is absolutely possible, there is research about it. But you need a coach for it to make a plan. Medication helps you stay on track and learn how to function and organize better. This way you can set your life up for success and get structured. Also tell your doctor about your concerns. If he is not willing to help xou on your journey, find another one
