You’re very welcome, I hope you find what works for you xxxx The yoga nidra sounds very interesting. I must look that up.

Thank you for all the details, very kind. Actually, my cat sleeps around my neck but the thing is that I’m particularly sensitive to “feeling of tight chest” for example because anxiety manifests itself precisely there. However, you’re right I could use it on my lap and I realise that during a trauma informed yoga class or a yoga nidra, the teacher often talks about putting a blanket or light weight on the hips. I guess there are different weight and all that, I’ll have a look at it. ❣️

Weighed blanket is already very intriguing to me, what is it supposed to do ? I would fear having something pushing on my chest

Some people need deep pressure stimulation and the weighted blanket or pillow provides that. For me the blanket makes me feel calmer and the pillow makes me feel calmer AND more focused. BUT I would only recommend if it’s something you feel you need. For example, I love getting hugs and seek them out, I really need them so the blanket and pillow help with that but my husband on the other hand doesn’t like to be touched too much and doesn’t need hugs so the blanket and pillow don’t do anything for him. If you don’t like the feeling of something on your chest then the pillow is definitely not for you. Do you have any pets? If you like the feeling of a pet on your lap then you might like the blanket. I hope that helps, it really is down to the individual need, you don’t have to try everything if it will make you feel worse. If you have any questions please let me know I’m happy to help where I can.

Only a weighted blanket, it’s worth it 😊

I ended up getting the pillow, it arrived yesterday and so far I love it. You don’t use it like a normal pillow, instead you hug it. I laid it on my chest as I was watching TV and it really helped to calm me. Usually I can’t watch TV without keeping my hands busy but the pillow helped me relax. Then I cuddled into it in bed and I fell asleep really quickly and stayed asleep all night which can be difficult for me. It could just be the novelty effect but so far so good. It’s like having a hug on demand!

Ditto, not pillow, but the blanket helps me sleep good!!! The only downside is it can get pretty hot if the nights aren’t cool, but sometimes, I just lay it over my chest. I don’t know why, but it is really sedating (I tend to toss and turn without it).

They don’t really keep warm, that’s true. I use my normal blanket and put the weighted one over it. What exactly is a weighted pillow? Doesn’t the head rest on it?
