ADHD + chronically late

No matter the event, it’s importance, or whether it falls under ‘work’ or ‘play’… I’m always LATE; it affects every aspect of my life! Primarily, work & job security, but also interferes with social/fun things too. Does anyone have any hacks that work well & address lateness/timeliness/punctuality in those with ADHD who run chronically late.

It happens to me all the time. I try to communicate my issue before and also tell people that I’m really trying :)

I aim to be ready 30 minutes to an hour before I need to be. And even then sometimes... I'm still late. But much less than I used to be.

I set lots of alarms for every event to make sure I don’t forget.

If it is an important event, I plan every detail in advance: iterinary, public transport schedule, what to wear, what to take with me, what to prepare in advance. Then I create multiple timers for each step in advance plus 3 reminders per event (45 min, 30 min, 15 min). For online meetings that I organize, I plan them 5 later (e.g. 12:35 instead of 12:30). (Hope my comment is okay, I am new here)

Edit comment did not work so I add here *standard alarm / timer

Just the standard alarm timer from my iPhone. Using Siri is also helpful. I sometimes try to use the reminders feature, but for some reason I don‘t get / see the alerts. Btw: ofc one must ensure to hear the smartphone 😅

I’m new here too! I love your approach too. Just curious, what kind of timer do you use?
