How to pay attention in a lecture

I know it’s summer, but I don’t take meds and lectures this year killed me. Is there some way that makes this easier? Caffeine helps but what else?

If you take online classes, buy a height adjustable desk and an behind-desk walking pad. You can walk on the walking pad on low speed during the online course. It helps a LOT! As for being in the class physically… that’s a different beast 🫠 Actively taking notes helps. We just have to accept that we’re not gonna be perfect 100% of the time. 🙂

I’m not in school anymore. But when I was, I used to try to write everything down without paying much attention to understanding or following it. Then when I got home I transcribed my notes and had an almost-full transcript of what the professor said! This may not work for everyone, but it worked for me.

For me personally was literally writing or doing some doodles. But is still very difficult if the professor didn't explain or talk very clearly (no clear explanation = no clear notes aaaaaa) In alternative I registered some lectures (I don't like listening again the lecture. Other people do this... not me)

That’s a tough one. I am having a hard time paying attention when it’s not an interesting subject or an interesting topic but with a terrible presentation. The hat I had to learn for myself was, to figure out if something is a boring part of an interesting bigger picture, or if I am on the wrong track. Being mindful about something being boring, but still important for a goal that motivates me, helps me to focus. (At least enough)
