The importance of being correctly diagnosed

For 40 years, I have been accepting that my environment labels me as lazy, absent-minded, restless… lowering my head and accepting their directives, criticisms, and comparisons, carrying the burden of their pace and results, believing myself to be less capable. The family business went bankrupt, and I had to go out and look for a job, and to meet the standards, I am paying for it with hours and a lot of discomfort. This week, I made it my goal to seek out a professional and finally find out my diagnosis and start living with ADHD as a potential rather than a limitation with a lot of love and self esteem. Wish me luck!

For someone that just got diagnosed with 31 years and still figuring everything out I can understand you a lot and of course: I wish you luck x100000

Stay strong! Recently got an official diagnosis, and it really helps to know and accept that it isn't your fault or you being stupid. It aslo (at least here in Sweden) opens up a lot of other possibilities when it comes to treatment (medicine, therapy, extra support etc)
