organization tips?

so i’m moving and want to have a better organized space. I have a label maker to mark things and cubbies/baskets so all my items and clothes have a “home” to go back to. any helpful ideas?

Specifically label the boxes. The first time I moved after getting married, I had just gotten major dental surgery done, so I was high off my tree on pain meds while packing. I didn't want to forget what was in the boxes when I was more lucid, and unpacking, so I sharpied almost every item on the outside of the box... I did get annoyed with having to do that a and a few boxes near the end got labeled misc(miscellaneous) shit. But it made the unpacking process flawless. I have moved a few times since then-not on mind altering drugs- and have just labelled them generic things like kitchen, bathroom, clothes. But because there's usually 2-3 boxes with the same label it was frustrating to have to go through all of them to find one specific thing. which is why I highly recommend specifically labeling boxes whether you're clear headed while packing or not, so you can easily unpack as you go a lot easier!

I love that idea!! the thought of multiple boxes with the same labels does stress me out. definitely will utilize that this week! thanks. also I hope the dental surgery went well lol moving and enduring that doesn’t sound fun.

In my experience, utilizing visuals helps me remember where stuff is. I have little food magnets that I put on my fridge and move based on what I actually have in my fridge, and it helps with food waste and ordering out too much.

wow that’s genius! definitely want to try that. my partner and I both have adhd/add so we constantly forget what’s in the fridge. thanks!
