Anxiety or sensory overload?

Realized today that what I thought was mild anxiety could actually be me being overwhelmed by too much noise and things happening and I like staying home because I can control how loud or quiet it is. Can this be because of adhd? Or is that more of an autism symptom?

I have two autistic kids (one of them is AuDHD) and I have ADHD. We all react to the noise but in my case it causes rage and frustration and anxiety but for them it is more than that : it is real, profound pain. They cry when they are exposed to strong or weird noises (like the brake of a car stopping). So I can see the common issues and the difference in this matter. But we are all different…

How to stop adhd rage moments? I’m super cool but if I get irritated and discombobulated I go crazy

Sounds like a hybrid 🤓 I think it’s cool because you’re understanding and aiding yourself when identifying the need and that’s big brain stuff to be proud of yk.

👋 Overstimulation due to noise falls under both ADHD & Autism other factors/symptoms would need to be taking into account. Think about like having ADHD on side of a page and Autism in the other they’re still in the same book but whichever one has the most ✅ on it, that’s the primary diagnosis.

Sensory overload definitely makes me anxious. Noises definitely affect me less though i still have my days most of the time it’s clothes or my hair and nothing feels right. I’ve seen ads for loop which kind of look like ear buds but the filter secondary noises so you have still hear people talking to you but you have less background noise

I would like to know the answer to that one, or I'm just a neurotic nervous wreck, cos I'm consistently nervous over every task I have to do that's important to my life, except sitting on my bed and bingeing Netflix series... I have been revamping my resume so I can apply for better jobs in less toxic environment for 2+ years 😓
