Is hiring a housekeeper worth it?

Does anyone have any stories of hiring a housekeeper and it successfully helping them keep a tidy home? I feel like I’m drowning in chores and don’t even know where to start to tackle things.

Yes!!! it makes a big difference in my life! I don’t like to clean or wash clothes or laundry and never have time to do it. I have a lady that comes once a week to clean and wash laundry and clean the sheets and change the linens. It allows me to be so much more successful at everything else and it’s worth the money for me. Hope that helps!

I think it can be great for a few reasons. If you are capable of some maintenance chores but you keep putting them off, having a scheduled cleaning service will give you a timeframe to get things done. Granted then you need to make sure it’s scheduled at a convenient time to be a cleaning tornado. It also takes some of the things that fall into your “blind spots” off your plate. For me, there are areas of my house or chores that I genuinely cannot recognize as needing attention. I’ve had to devise coping skills to make sure these blind spots don’t get overlooked for too long, but having someone else come in with fresh eyes and a desire to get things done could be great for your own mental load.

I personally feel like it is, but also make sure not to rely too much on him or her or whatever pronouns they go by and also think about maybe helping them sometimes so then you wont procrastinate cleaning as much!

I used to have one and it helped so much. Thanks for the reminder I think I’ll get one again now I’m working.

Yes it’s a godsend if you’re lucky enough to be able to afford it. Essential for me to keep my marriage!

It’s worth it!! Once a week fortnight is good to get someone in to do all that dee cleaning done would be good if you can get a cleaner that also does washing clothes ironing etc - then you can basically leave your house anyway you want all the time so like if your motivated one week to do it you can and the cleaner will still come she/he will just have less to do that week and when your not motivated at least you know your house will be deep cleaned and your washing done and that itself will take a massive load of your shoulders- all of this of course if you can afford it- or can get on some type of disability scheme where you don’t have to pay. ❤️

I am watching Auri Katarina on YouTube and she is cleaning homes for free. And she always said, that the first thing she is doing is to pick up rubbish, then sink, every flat surface, etc. Maybe start from small such as one room, or even one cupboard. Small steps and you will get there 💪
