Emotionally spent

Does anyone know how I can stop being so angry. I got diagnosed in February and have been on Lisdexamfetamine ever since and it was amazing but lately I have just been getting so angry at such little things. But the rage is so overwhelming I have to leave.

My therapist told me anger is a secondary emotion that results from not addressing the primary emotion. For example if you didn’t do well on a test you might feel disappointed, but if you don’t address the disappointment then it can build into anger and all of a sudden you are pissed at the professor or your study buddy or anyone that happens to be nearby—as long as you don’t have to face your own disappointment. I find it really helpful to try to find the primary emotion whenever I catch myself getting angry.

I had irritability when my dose was too high. Maybe check the dosage?

You have to look at your anger as something that's not coming from your body, like it doesn't belong to you. Anger it's something by itself. It worked for me with other emotions. Good luck. Smile with your all heart.
