Giving up smoking

After 2 years I have finally decided to take some steps and give up smoking. Third day, the cravings are unbearable, i eat uncontrollably…. However my sense of smell is much better and I can breathe deeper… hope it lasts… any experience with giving up smoking here ?

Go to a doctor or psychiatrist and ask for help if you can. There is Wellbutrin. There is nicotine patches and gums, etc. Don’t just try on your own, especially with ADHD as nicotine is a stimulant and thus cravings for it will be even harder. Good luck 👍

I quit smoking about three months ago because I realized that I really love myself and don’t need to harm my body anymore. I think before i never had any strong motivation than this. I also gave up on alcohol completely as having a drink would automatically make me crave cigarette. Lastly don’t be hard on yourself if you do have a cigarette because one day you’ll defo stop! Believe in yourself :)

Allen Carr wrote a book about that and claims almost anyone who read the whole thing stopped smoking. I only know about that because I read Atomic Habits.
