Any tips for managing executive dysfunction?

I’ve been struggling with executive dysfunction like crazy recently, even when I use this app. My time blindness is pretty bad and feel like time is slipping from my fingers bc I don’t have enough time to accomplish everything I need to do🤦🏼‍♀️ Any neurodivergent motivational podcast or tips??

Try the Tiimo app. It's designed for time blindness. Also look up ADHD paralysis. If you try breaking things waaay down it may not be so overwhelming. Eg: when you put on your list "do the dishes", your brain goes wild thinking about how that's unloading the dishwasher, loading the dishwasher, walking around the house to make sure you have all the dishes, hand wash anything that needs it, then finally clean the counters and stovetop. That is SO overwhelming to think about! So rather than put "do dishes" on my list I break it down further. The first section of the dishwasher I unload is the cutlery, so on my list I put "empty cutlery". That's a simple task, and you feel like you could even be off the hook if that's all you get done because that was the only thing you put on the list. It's more than likely you'll be able to finish all the parts to "doing the dishes", but it takes away the negative if you're having a bad day. I mean you still beat yourself up a little, but -for me anyway - not nearly as much. Another thing you could look up is the Promodoro technique. It gives you a cycle of time for work, and time for a break.

I totally understand that. Maybe try giving yourself some boundaries with it. Like tell yourself before you open any app. I'm only gonna read 10 posts or I'm only gonna watch 5 videos and then stop. You could also try to schedule stuff like that in between tasks. For example, if you have to do the dishes, do them and then reward yourself by setting a 30 minute timer to do something like draw or scroll through an app or read a book. Good luck :))

Thank you! I need to work on my discipline because I could scroll for hours😭

I also use timers with notes to remind me of important things that need to get done. I’ve also been making a “not right now” list and anytime I remember something I need to do and feel the need to do it right then and there I add it to the list to look at once I’m done with my current task.

Yes, same issue here 🙃 The app has helped me but honestly, setting an alarm with details on it helps too. Otherwise, time just passes me by too 🥴
