Overwhelmed

Does anyone ever just wake up and know that they’re going to have a bad ADHD day? Today I have so much energy and I’m excited, but I can’t seem to remember what I’m doing every five minutes. What do you guys do when you feel this way?

Oh yeah, I have days like that when my mind goes crazy and I can’t do something properly even though I’m motivated. When it’s like that, I generally try to do breathing exercises (the Down Dog apps series is great btw!! free for students and teachers) or take a quick nap, leaving my phone really far away with a loud alarm set for about 10/15 minutes later. And before my nap, I visualize THE thing I should do first to “program my mind”, and as soon the alarm rings, I have to get up and almost already doing the thing. Hope it makes sense! But what really helps is implementing daily healthy sources of dopamine and avoid social medias, especially those where you don’t chose what you watch!! (like TikTok, Instagram Reels, etc). It’s so freaking hard and I don’t do it myself everyday (and not gonna lie, I currently manage to do it little by little only since I started taking Ritalin), but I’ve noticed significant differences by reducing the amount of time spent on social media. Starting the day with healthy dopamine to program your brain for the day is crucial. On days when I immediately scroll through my phone after waking up, or even when I spend one hour or two scrolling during the day, I really notice my mind going crazy afterward. After watching this video I realized my ADHD symptoms weren’t as severe when TikTok didn’t exist, even though I was already using Youtube and other media platforms a lot 🥲 and what I especially meant is that my mind didn’t go as crazy before the creation of TikTok (I’m not saying it wasn’t the case, it was just less extreme)

I give myself a lot of grace, kindness and love 🥰 I set reminders and timers. If I feel I’m unable to start a certain task, I don’t beat myself up but remind myself that I’ll come back to it and move on to what I can do 🤩 Positive self talk is huge for me! You got this!! 🫶🏼

LIKE EVERY FUCKING DAY, it’s not like this for me I just know something with bother me and ruin my day again as soon as I wake up. Everytime I get that feeling I’m correct it’s usually my girlfriend and I don’t know how to stop letting little things get to me like this. It’s like she never wants to learn about me, be like me , or be with me to do any of that. It’s just so mf frustrating I want to be around her so bad until I am and realize why I don’t like it everytime because I cause issues out of nothing everytime
