Putting off tasks
I always put everything off and look for reasons to distract myself with smaller tedious tasks. Today I am finally gonna do laundry after 4 days of putting it on my Numo task š®āšØ

I literally canāt understand how people are able to put something on a to-do list and just do it . My brain just goes, ābut you can choose to not do it.ā I was discussing this with a friend and she told me about a body-doubling app that she likes, and I get how that could help IF you can initiate actually going into the app and starting (ie someone keeps you accountable to continue working) but, again, how do you make yourself show up for the body-doubling session in the first place? I have important, time sensitive things on my to-do list that have been there for weeks. Are there negative consequences for not doing them? Yes. Does that provide any additional motivation for my brain? No. I just feel like I have zero control over which things my brain will show up for vs the things it wonāt. Itās like my brain is a dog who doesnāt know how to walk on a leash, and Iām the idiot holding the leash and being yanked all over the sidewalk.
Iām new to Numo, and am hoping that it doesnāt turn into my latest time-sucker, helping me task-avoid by being here instead of getting tasks done.
You have a valid concern. Iāve been using Numo for about 3 weeks. So far I havenāt gone down a Numo rabbit hole. I read a few posts, sometimes post a response or two, then get off the app. I like Numo but it doesnāt seem to hold my interest for an extended length of time. That said, I look forward to checking in everyday. Both behaviors are untypical of me. Perhaps the app is set up this way?
Yep. Some of the week I do and then every so often I have a day when I do ALL the things!
