“It girl” routine???

I love watching videos of people’s morning routines and university vlogs and such. I like doing some parts of these routine but I don’t really wake up at the same time those people do and it always takes so much longer than normal. I try not to beat myself up too much because obviously my brain doesn’t want to cooperate but sometimes I wish I could just handle it. What do you guys think about this trend?

Also finding music or a playlist that gets you feeling good first makes you feel like doing things haha

Wow I never have seen that! I just know it’s better for me to not compare or compete with people. Maybe take a look and journal and think: what is my IDEAL morning routine? Then look it over and make it more realistic and then try it out and see what works. For me, I am not a morning person. Sooo I don’t want my husband to even really talk to me besides goodmorning and have a good day. I can’t process information for like an hour after I get up and he knows that now so he doesn’t get mad at me. Also I make a smoothie the night before and put the blender container in the fridge. In the AM, all I do is feed the dogs, open the door for them, make tea, pour a Togo cup of tea and smoothie, refill my water and I’m out the door by 7:25am

I gotcha! I’ve kind of found that putting everything together the night before is helpful too. That smoothie hack is genius, I love smoothies but hate eating fruit and veggies as is. That’s brilliant!

Man, I’ve always been so enamored by the imaginary version of myself that can keep to a routine and is so disciplined and blah blah blah… Yet, every time I try to squeeze myself into such a schedule, I always fail. I might be able to maintain the routine for a bit, but eventually I get bored or forget about it lol. I’m finding that I can be just as disciplined and happy with my day by just doing things whenever I happen to get around to it. This way, I’m way less stressed and agitated about having to keep up with consistency. Just stay diligent every now and then! Make sure to do at least one or two productive things a day whenever you get around to it 🤷‍♀️ I’m not sure if this is exactly what you were talking about, but there’s that lol

That makes a lot of sense! For me, making my bed is the best thing to keep myself kind of regulated, but I’ve learned “as long as I make it, it’ll be okay. I don’t have to do it at a specific time every day” works a lot better than alarms and such.
