Routine Tip

When trying to just even start a daily routine, rather than plan your whole day, or even week. Start smaller. I have downloaded countless routine apps that all break routines down differently, and have imputed how I want my week to go, and I haven't been able to stick with it for more than 5 days. I realized that I needed to start with only one portion of the day. I picked the morning, because that sets your whole day up. I just got around to changing my routine app now, so I'll start tomorrow, but I feel it will help significantly if I focus on just one portion of the day, and then when I feel it's starting to stick, add another portion. I took quite a big chunk of the morning to start out with, so if I find I'm struggling, I'm going to cut down the portion to start out with even smaller. Another thing I did to make it interesting was I made tasks that weren't mandatory -mandatory tasks being things like brushing teeth- interchangeable. For an example I broke down my exercises down to only two or three a day, then had them recurring every two weeks. That way the daunting task of exercising isn't so bad when your brain goes "again! We just did that yesterday! You just did this last Monday!". Yes you exercised yesterday, but you did different things yesterday, and last week. It's only two or three. You can do reps for a half hour, or you can do each exercise once, and choose how to spend the rest of that 30mins. I'm hoping it helps. I will keep you updated.

***Update*** I find it's actually working really well. The only time I find I struggle with keeping to it is when I sleep in. It feels overwhelming to try and cram everything in, in the time frame it has. I have been able to pick it back up when I get up on time though, so that's been super helpful! I guess my next steps should be to figure out what I can cut out on days I sleep in, so that it's not so overwhelming that I crater and do nothing. I suppose numbering the importance could help me widdle the list down. I'll have to play with it, and figure out what works! That second paragraph was my literal thought process as it happened. I had a complete block on what to do next. I was honestly going to ask for tips on sleeping in with routines. I guess it goes to show how writing these things out really helps!

Omg!!! I feel so stupidπŸ™ˆ I just opened my routine app to figure out what I could cut out.... It was not at all hard! It was super easy to pick what needed to come out, and what just needed a start time adjustment.... It took me less than a minute πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ super glad I let ADHD paralysis win every time I slept in since trying to start a new routine for the last 2 monthsπŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Yea I've that but eventually I stop because it would be times were I was inconsistent and it'll basically ruin my day if you got off task in the morning then I eventually tell myself I'll start new tomorrow, I'm trying out this method called 30-30 I set a timer for 30mins of what ever task and if I'm motivated enough I'll keep going if not I'll just stop and take a 5-30 min break or do something else then come back if I feel it's necessary
