Behaviour momentum

If I find enough energy to do a small task, I can sometimes use the momentum to do a series of tasks. I.e i took dirty washing to the machine, I thought ‘I may as well’ and put the machine on, I then thought, I may as well tidy the recycling as it’s just there and will only take a second, then I may as well pair up the socks as it’s just there and will only take a second. Then I may as well put the kettle on, I may as well clean the kitchen tops while I wait for it to boil. I may as well make myself a bowl of cereal, it’s just there and it means I can take my meds as well

Good idea! I have heard of the 54321 hack. So as soon as something is in your mind like.. I could do xyz, count down from 5 and do it within that time. Otherwise it has gone into working memory oblivion haha

And using that momentum I managed to: 1 put washing on 2 clean kitchen 3 remember to eat 4 remember to take my meds 5 the socks stopped sitting in a pile of doom. A lot of things got done and i was in such a good mood with myself. Only problem is it doesn’t work all the time but it’s something that might help someone so I’m throwing it out there. And any suggestions on how to get it to work more reliably would definitely be appreciated.
