Tips & Tricks for staying motivated 😩

I have recently been diagnosed nearly 2 months ago, and still learning a lot of my traits are connected to ADHD. I have been put on a stimulant which works wonders for being at work! It lasts up until around 5pm/6pm. But when I return home from work around 5pm I’m not so bad at motivating myself to walk the dog anymore, but I kind of just lounge around then and don’t really get anything done I would like to! Then when I realise the time I’m rushing around to get showered and in bed for “a normal time” If anyone has any tips/tricks they use or mentally tell themself something to motivate, please share! I’d love to be able to apply them and hopefully they help me 😩😅

I'm back on meds recently and adjusting to the crash, which is what you're describing. I take a little bit of maca around 6, when I'm feeling the come down, and it will energize me thru the evening. I'm trying to balance being able to sleep on time though. It kept me up until 2, but then I passed out soundly and slept well. I bet with a sleeping aid like melatonin or valerian root there could be a good balance.

I take concerta for the day and sometimes a tiny bit of ritalin for the afternoon for when concerta has wore off. Also my friend she takes the dog out immediately after coming home from work cause it is extremely unbearable otherwise.

Each task that seems overwhelming, break it down (or reduce it) to its smallest parts. Instead of "taking the dog for a walk" you're "grabbing the leash from where it hangs in the closet" and "hooking dog to leash" and "putting on shoes" and "walking out the door" if you catch my drift. It helps me with the larger tasks that I end up not doing and just "lounging around" because I'm overwhelmed by the weight of such a big task, when really, everything is just little movements all in one
