I’ve discovered the following for me:
If I start a routine that I know is necessary to achieve a goal that is deeply important to me, it becomes (almost) easy to stick to it. Because anytime I don’t want to do it, I go to my big WHY and in that second the "cost” to not do it is so much greater than to just do it, so I’ll just do it.
On the other hand, routines that I try to start because I think it would be a good thing, are a lost cause.
Not sure if that’s just me, but maybe ask yourself why you want to start a routine. And if it’s really important to you, every time you want to skip it, think about what you’re losing if you don’t do it.
Hope this helps you as much as it helps me 🍀
