Screen Time

Has anyone noticed that reducing or limiting screen time helps calm the brain? I've noticed it works with my kid so I was thinking of parenting myself lol. I'm already on screens all day due to work and my few important daily apps that keep me on track.

I don’t even download TikTok because it’s like a drug and the time just disappears

I use Opal app to completely block insta in the mornings

I put a fish tank in my bedroom on my nite stand… (i know, weird) but it has ended the screen time in bed and I enjoy watching the fish and usually fall asleep doing so. I LOVE it!

Yep, especially at night. I’ve been substituting it for the brown noise on this app and realized I just need a sound, not necessarily content.

Yes. I have to use an app that blocks my access to time waster apps though!

I’ve learned that reducing my social media usage calls my brain immensely. And if I use apps that are more focused on neurodivergence than anything else my brain gets even less scattered.

Completely, I put the screen control on my phone and I’m on it way more than I thought I was 😬

Yes it definitely does. I think the hardest part though is the temptation of looking at your phone all the time 😅 I try to have a wind down period (almost) every night before I go to bed where I limit looking at my phone, else my mind can be too active and I can’t sleep.
