Squirrel Nests

I have taken on the Numo hack of having a bin / basket to put stuff in instead of creating piles all over the house. So far so good! Also set a PM routine that includes 10mins of straightening up at the end of the day. This has been a game changer. Anyone else doing this or something similar?

I love that you call them squirrel nests! It makes me want to do this. Thanks!

Mail basket is a good idea, I had something by the front door for a while but it became and out of sight out of mind thing. I have a paperwork organizer with a few slots now that I put mail I need to address in after I open it. Biggest game changer for mail has been open immediately once I get it from the mailbox 😅

I don’t have extra nests but identified my “hot spots” (on tables, chairs etc) and set up a daily routine with 2 mins express hot spot care - which is already game changing. With the rest and the cleaning we’ve been successful “FLY ladies” for almost three months now 🙌

I tried a pretty, half cylindrical basket for mail on the kitchen counter… it was too small. 🤦🏼‍♀️ It’s still being utilized, but not in the best way; and I don’t have a replacement basket for the mail to be placed in yet, either. However, I could swap things out of a wicker basket to place the mail into, but I’d already thought about using it for my cat’s treats and such. I could get another one… it’s just not that much of an importance at the moment (she says, as she begrudgingly thinks about all of the chaotic clutter that the mail pile and the cat’s stuff is making in two separate spaces, and then what will she do with the stuff currently in the basket???). 🐿️ 🧠 🧺
