Emotion absorbance

Today was a long day, not full of events or tasks. Just emotions 😮‍💨 Lately, I have been feeling like I am a sponge that absorbs everybody's emotions and then I can't get out and have to fight it a lot and take a lot of time and process to get over it, even though that the person that had the emotions has went over it or let it go. Have you faced something similar? What do you do?

I struggle with this. Best thing to do for me is to spend time by myself in silence or maybe with some meditation music. And then to write or draw whatever you have in your mind. You don’t need to be an artist, there is this technique called “neurograghic art” you can look it up. Sometimes it’s hard for me to tell exactly how I feel and what feelings are being absorbed. Sometimes I can just draw them. Also I write poetry, because it doesn’t require to stay in the box of grammar and sentence structure. It can be just random words that come to mind.

Agree with journaling. I also just hit record on my phone, get it out, listen to it, and it helps me process and release.

I do sometimes wish I can record my thoughts as I don't always get to write it down but I hate hearing my voice so I can't stand to listen to it back

One of the most effective ways to get out of it is to start writing journal right away. It's hard to start, but once you do, it does wonders.

I do journaling and does do wonders, writing have saved my a lot. But the problem is even after writjng it and realising it is not my emotions it takes me a lot of time to get back to the normal
