An alternative place to communicate?

Sending messages to people and just a way to chat and communicate with others is essential if the numo groups are really to work as an “accountability holders” kind of way. Riht now I dont really see the point of them, while normal commenting and post viewing is behind a paywall. It sucks cause the app ends up just being a todo list app, when there are other apps that I feel were better in terms of… being todo apps, like todo mate. So you end up being locked out of the only way to communicate and have no chat option, making the “community” part feel just like an addon, when I can honestly find a community easier on discord, twitter, or even reddit
